Pasi Pirinen performs at Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music 20 June, 2008

Pasi Pirinen performed at the Great Hall of Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music on April 12, 2008 to conclude a residency for the 2007-2008 academic year in Riga, Latvia.  Pirinen visited the academy 8 times throughout the year performing concerts, working with students, and coaching ensembles.  Pirinen also visited area towns to perform and visit with students and teachers during his visits to the academy.

The final concert included performances from student ensembles (trumpet ensembles and brass quintet) and student solos.  Student performers came from the Latvian Academy of Music and the studio of Viktors Hrustalovs.  Pianist, Ausma Luste accompanied the solo performances.  Works included pieces by Daniel Thrower, Johann Melchior Molter, Jean-Michel Defaye, and Eric Ewazen.  Pirinen performed an arrangement of the Neruda Trumpet Concerto with Brass Quintet accompaniment.
