Dennis Ferry, now in his 31st year as Principal Trumpet of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande in Geneva, Switzerland, recently presented a series of unique 2-part lecture/demonstrations entitled "Versatility in the 21st Century" and "Living and Working Abroad". Between March 12 and March 27, 2008, he appeared at four universities in the United States - Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, George Washington University, University of Mary Washington, and Howard University. At the University of Mary Washington, Ferry was invited to participate on a panel of experts speaking about the many facets of the music business in the United States. In addition, he brought to the panel his extensive knowledge of musical life and working conditions abroad. Ferry’s presentation at Howard University was filmed by Japanese television for broadcast all over Japan. Following his presentation at Howard, Dennis Ferry was honored to be the guest of Mr. Fred J. Irby III, Professor of Trumpet at Howard, at a reception at the Japanese Embassy in Washington, D.C.
