ITG’s Publications Editor, Gary Mortenson, wishes to thank Neville Young for five years of tremendous service to ITG as its News Editor for both the ITG Journal and ITG Web Site. Young leaves the News Editor position on 11th April, intending to publish his last website story exactly five years after his first. Under his leadership the news portion of ITG’s service to its members has grown exponentially in quantity and quality. Young managed to do this work while juggling his many commitments at work, home, and in his musically active life in and around London.

In addition to his work in news, he served as an exceptional conference reporter accepting many of the most important assignments in every conference he attended from the Manchester event in 2002 onward. Mortenson expresses his appreciation for the exceptional level of quality he brought to all his efforts on behalf of ITG and looks forward to his continued involvement as a member of ITG’s Board of Directors and his willingness to continue as a conference reporter in the years ahead.

Mortenson remembers many times over the last five years when he has had to tell his good friend to shut off his computer and go to bed knowing that his evening communications (from Kansas) with his friend in London were being answered in the early hours of the morning across the pond. ITG owes a debt of gratitude to Mr. Neville Young – an extraordinary writer, editor, musician, and human being.
