200 trumpeters perform at Rouen Cathedral in preparation for Eric Aubier Competition
Saturday, October 15, 2016, over two hundred trumpeters converged at the Rouen Cathedral for a special concert.
The performers included renowned professors, professionals, amatuers, trumpet students, as well as the sounds of the Regional Conservatory of Rouen, the Seine Brass Band, cathedral organist Lionel Coulon, and internationally acclaimed French solo trumpeter Éric Aubier.
The varied program, including selections from baroque music of Bach and Schütz to celebrated film music themes, was well received by an enthusiastic audience of over twelve hundred.
This event took place in preparation for the Eric Aubier International Solo Trumpet Competition that will take place from October 22 to October 28 in Normandie in collaboration with the Rouen Opera and the CRR de Rouen.
Thierry Gervais, renowned trumpeter and president of the French contest association, thanked the ACITEA contest association and private partners at the event.
