Tiffany Hoffer & Ryan Brewer to US Army Field Band Concert Band trumpet section

The United States Army Field Band of Washington, D.C. is pleased to announce the addition of Tiffany Hoffer and Ryan Brewer to the Concert Band trumpet section.

Tiffany Hoffer is a trumpet player currently based in New York City. Her orchestral experience includes performances with the Richmond County Orchestra, Concertino NY, Ureuk Symphony Orchestra, The Garden State Opera of New Jersey, The Patriot Brass Ensemble, and many other ensembles throughout New York City and surrounding areas. Hoffer has attended Spoleto Festival USA, Aspen Music Festival, Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar, Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, The Rafael Mendez Brass Institute, The Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar, and Boston University Tanglewood Institute. She has also been a semi-finalist several times in the National Trumpet Competition's high school, undergraduate, and graduate solo divisions, and took 6th place in the ensemble division with her trumpet sextet in March of 2010. Hoffer completed her master's degree in Orchestral Performance at Manhattan School of Music, where she studied primarily with Vincent Penzarella. Prior to this, Hoffer obtained her undergraduate degree in trumpet performance at Indiana University, where she studied with John Rommel. Her other teachers have included Terry Everson, Adel Sanchez, Joey Tartell, Manny Laureano, Tom Smith, and her own father, Gil Hoffer. 

A native of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Ryan Brewer received his bachelor's degree in performance from the University of North Texas as a student of Keith Johnson. He recently graduated with a master's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University where he studied with Dr. Gary Wurtz. Brewer advanced to the semi-finals of the National Trumpet Competition in 2015 and 2016, has been named runner-up for the International Trumpet Guild Orchestral Excerpts Competition in Columbus, Ohio, and was awarded an Orchestral Fellowship at the Texas Music Festival in Houston. He also was named a winner of the 2015 Stephen F. Austin State University Concerto Competition, having made his solo debut on October 5th with his performance of the Hummel Trumpet Concerto. In March 2016, Brewer was named a finalist in the first-ever ITG Military Band Excerpt Competition which will be held at the ITG conference in Anaheim, CA on June 1st. During the summer of 2016, he will be performing as a member of National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, CO. Ryan is a member of ITG, TMEA, and is an alumnus of Mu Phi Epsilon and the Metro Praise Youth Orchestra.
