Joe Wolfe trumpet concerto premiere/download & donate to Fred Hollows Foundation

Anthony Heinrichs and the Australian Symphony Central Coast under the direction of Steven Stanke recently premiered physicist Joe Wolfe's trumpet concerto, written for Heinrichs.

The work reflects the composer's jazz influences.

The work is available on the internet (link below.) The composer asks that all people who download the work donate to the Fred Hollows Foundation. This charity works to restore sight in third world countries – curing trachoma, disease prevention etc. They train local doctors to do the surgery and have built factories in those countries to make the lens implants. For this reason, they can restore someone's sight for $25.
