Brynn Marchiando performs Hummel trumpet concerto

Brynn Marchiando, who plays third/associate trumpet professionally in the New Mexico Philharmonic Orchestra, performed Hummel’s Trumpet Concerto in E-Flat with the Albuquerque Philharmonic Orchestra, a local civic orchestra, at two free concerts on March 6 and 8, 2015, in the Albuquerque area.

The orchestra, under the baton of guest conductor Byron Herrington, played concerts at V. Sue Cleveland High School in nearby Rio Rancho and at the historic Hiland Theater on Route 66 in Albuquerque. Additional pieces performed in this concert were Borodin’s Symphony No. 2 and R. Strauss’s Death and Transfiguration. Marchiando performed the Hummel on an E-flat trumpet, and both performances were enthusiastically received.

Brynn Marchiando also serves as acting principal trumpet with Opera Southwest, the Santa Fe Sypmhony, and the Santa Fe Concert Association. She recently performed a recital with her husband John Marchiando at the 2014 ITG Conference in Valley Forge.
