Laurie Frink, born in Pender, Nebraska, has toured throughout the world playing lead trumpet with the big bands of Benny Goodman, Gerry Mulligan, Mel Lewis, Bob Mintzer, and Maria Schneider Her diverse career includes several Broadway shows, radio and television jingles, movie soundtracks, and guest appearances with artists such as the Talking Heads, David Bowie and David Sanborn. Her versatility as an artist has led tofrink.jpg performances with the Manhattan Brass Quintet, the Saturday Brass Quintet, the Gramercy Park Brass, and Concordia.

In an effort to expand the trumpet repertoire, Ms. Frink has commissioned three works for trumpet and jazz orchestra. Because of her belief in the multi-faceted expressiveness of the trumpet, she is dedicated to commissioning original solo works for the trumpet and various ensembles.

Considered the foremost authority and teacher of the Carmine Caruso method, she attracts professional brass players from around the world. In addition to her private studio, she has served on the faculties of Manhattan School of Music, New School for Social Re-search, SUNY Purchase, Stoneybrook, New York University, Westchester Conservatory, Harbor Junior High School for Performing Arts, and the Mile High Jazz Camp. The personable style of Ms. Frink has contributed to her success as a clinician, lecturer and conductor. In addition to her work ranging from junior high school wind ensembles to professional jazz orchestras, she has also been a featured artist at the International Trumpet Competition in Kiev, and the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Gteborg, Sweden.
