Dennis Edelbrock, founder of the National Trumpet Competition and adjunct professor of trumpet at George Mason University, has very active career as both a performer and teacher in the Washington, D.C. area. A graduate of the University of Iowa, heedelbrock.jpg completed advanced degrees at Catholic University, and is a member of the United States Army Brass Quintet and The United States Army Band, with whom he has performed for many statesmen, presidents, and dignitaries. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Award, the nations second highest peacetime award; he is also the U.S. Armys Senior Special Bugler.

Mr. Edelbrock has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballets, the New York City Ballet, the Kennedy Center Orchestra, the National Symphony, and many other prestigious organizations. In 1985, he toured Europe with the Bach Consort, and has been featured on many television and radio broad-casts, as well as several film scores. Dr. Edelbrock is a U.M.I.
