John Aley is the Professor of Music/Trumpet at the University of Wisconsin/Madison. He received his MM from Yale University and his BM from Wichita State University. He is a former member of the American Brass Quintet, with whom he performed throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. As a New York City freelancer, he performed with many New York ensembles, and has recorded with the ABQ, P.D.Q. Bach, the Orpheus Chamber Ensemble, and the American Composers Orchestra. He is a member of the Wisconsin Brass Quintet, and has released two CDs with that ensemble. Mr. Aley has performed as soloist with the English Chamber Orchestra, and the Vienna Chamber Orchestra among others. He is the Principal Trumpet for the Madison Symphony, and has been an artist/teacher for the Aspen Music Festival, the Yale Summer School of Music, and the National Music Camp. He is currently an artist/teacher for the Hot Springs Music Festival, the Four Lakes Music Festival and the UW/Madison Summer Music Clinic.(Wed., May 19, 9 a.m., 2 p.m.) |
