Dr. Scott Nelson is Associate Professor of Trumpet and conductor of the Wind Ensemble nelson.jpgat Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. He received his B.M.E. from the University of Akron, and the M.M. degree (trumpet performance) and D.M.A. (conducting) from the University of Cincinatti College-Conservatory of Music. Dr. Nelson has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony, the Cincinnati Pops Or-chestra, the Kennedy Center house orchestra, the Washington Oratorio Orchestra, the Akron Symphony, the Canton Symphony, and is currently a member of the Maryland Symphony. Dr. Nelson frequently appears as a guest conductor, trumpet soloist, and clinician as an instrumentalist and vocal breathing specialist. He has also appeared with Dave Brubeck, Danny Thomas, Chet Adkins, Herbie Mann, Issac Hayes, and many others. (Thurs, May 20, 1 p.m.)
