Carmine Caruso was one of the world’s greatest brass teachers. It is to the man and his work that the 2003 Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition is dedicated.

All events are open to the public and will be held at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida(USA) on November 15, 2003. Laurie Frink will present a morning clinic on the Carmine Caruso Teaching Method in the UCF Rehearsal Hall. The final competition round will be held in the same location. An evening Finale concert will be presented in the Pegasus Grand Ballroom of the UCF Student Union featuring the competition winners and the three distinguished artist/judges: John Swana, Tiger Okoshi, and Clay Jenkins.
