This conference, which can be considered the exclamation point of our 25th anniversary ye a r, has eve ry factor that ensures the continuation and enhancement of that tradition.

T he 2001 International Trumpet Guild Conference marks the 26th consecutive year of ITG gatherings, with this conference the first of the twenty-first century. With this in mind, the theme for 2001 is Discovery.
There are numerous artists performing who have never appeared at an ITG conference, new members attending for the first time, and new works having their world premieres, all of which lend to a sense of discovery.
The 2001 ITG conference is hosting artists with a long history of performing and teaching, as well as newcomers who have just started their journey. The program features a kaleidoscope of styles ranging from classical to jazz to rock to twenty-first century music. With the introduction of new talent as a priority, I trust each of us will become more aware of where we are headed within and outside of our organization.
The lectures, recitals, concerts, panel discussions and master classes are sure to be entertaining, educational and inspiring. Make sure to attend as many events as you can; this is a wonderful opportunity to experience performers never heard before at an ITG conference.
The University of Evansville is honored to be hosting such a prestigious event. I hope you enjoy a memorable 2001 ITG Conference experience in Evansville. Dont toot too many high notes in the exhibit area and have a great four day adventure!
