Prelude: Purchase College Conservatory Trumpet Ensemble

The seven trumpet players of the Purchase Conservatory Trumpet Ensemble began their prelude performance scattered across the stage, in a stunning presentation of Michael Tippet's Fanfare for the Four Corners. They continued with Fanfare for Europe by Edmund Rubbra, and concluded with Altenburg's Concerto for seven trumpets and timpani. The group performed without a conductor, and handled the literature well, maintaining a strong sense of ensemble throughout their performance.
