Louise Baranger was born in Hollywood, California and attended Saddleback College. She studied with two top MGM Studio staff musi-cians, Harold “Pappy" Mitchell and Uan Rasey, and with William Vacchiano and Bobby Shew.

In 1982 Harry James asked Louise to join his orchestra, and she remained with the band until Harry’s last engagement in June of 1983. During the ‘80s and 90’s she was a member of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra and also performed with the Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras, Los Angeles Rams Band, the Disneyland Big Band and the band in residence for the 1984 Olympic Jazz Festival.

Television credits include screen appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, a PBS Tribute to Harry James, Dallas, Falcon Crest, the World Music Awards with Steve Allen and The Bobby Vinton Show.

In live performances, Louise has toured Europe, Japan, and South America and backed the talents of Dionne Warwick, Steve Allen, George Burns, Clark Terry, Joan Rivers, Milton Berle, Vic Damone, Maurice Hines, Candice Bergen, Pattie Page and many more. She has also played Carousel and Les Miserables on Broadway, and shared the stage at Carnegie Hall with John Pizzarelli, Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops.
